How do I go about disabling the sound when a badge is scanned on the Conference Tracker app?

Intro

This guide will show you how Administrators and Operators can disable the loud "BEEEP!!!" sound when a badge is scanned on the Conference Tracker app. You must have the app downloaded and installed before making these changes to each device.  There is no setting to disable this option by default in the Administrative settings of Conference Tracker.

Step-by-Step

Android:

  1. Login to the Conference Tracker app as an Admin or Operator using your email and password provided:

    InfoNote: Select your current conference (typically the top one since they are sorted by expiration date) if you have used this app for multiple conferences.

  2. The device will sync with all the sessions, attendees, etc., and you will need to select a Session or Room to move past this screen:


  3. From the home screen, click the menu (hamburger) icon in the top left of the screen, and select the Settings section:

    InfoNote: You may need to scroll down the menu to see the Settings section.

  4. In the Settings, scroll down to the last option and select the "Mute" checkbox under the Swipe heading:


  5. Done! Exit the settings and start scanning your sessions! It's recommended that you do this before you arrive at the conference to sync the bulk of the sessions and attendees.
    InfoNote: You may need to click the "Change Session" option when you go back to the home screen if you previously selected a random room/session.


Apple:

  1. The app has no setting to mute the device because it will only vibrate and not beep loudly on the Apple iOS devices.
    AlertImportant: Remember to login and sync your device before the conference to load most the data before you arrive onsite.
