This article explains how to add GPS coordinates to a location within AccuCampus. By entering the GPS coordinates instead of the standard street address, users accessing the Campus Compass through the AccuCampus mobile app will be able to receive turn-by-turn walking directions to a location. If the location has not yet been created, first review the article How do I add a new center, classroom, or location in AccuCampus? Note that to add the credentials or create the location, you will need permission to edit locations and be scoped to that location.
1. Search for the location by typing the name of the location into the search box on any page and adding "in:locations" at the end.
2. Click on the location name in the search results.
4. Find the exact location in Google Maps. Most users search for the college name.
5. Right click on the building housing the location and click, What's here?
6. A box will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on the link containing the building's coordinates.
7. The coordinates will appear in the box on the left hand side underneath the address. Highlight and copy the coordinates.
7. Click back to AccuCampus and paste the coordinates into the Street Address field.
9. After a few seconds, the coordinates will become the exact address of the location.
Although this field is editable, making changes will risk nullifying the user's ability to access walking directions from the AccuCampus mobile app. If the directions are not correct, consult Google for assistance.
10. Click Save.
