Introduction
Administrators in Accudemia can give tutors the permission to sign students in and out of a Center. For example, if a student walks into a physical Center and seeks out help without signing in at the kiosk, a tutor could sign this student in to keep a log of it. Alternatively, students who were emailed an online meeting link bypass Accudemia entirely, so the tutor could sign these students in to keep accurate logs. Also, students won't always sign themselves out of a Center once they've received help. If there's a buildup of student profiles who aren't logging out, it can cause an error. Tutors with the right permissions can sign these students out to avoid this problem. This article will explain how to give these permissions to individual tutors, as well as all tutors working for the college.
Step-by-Step
How to give individual tutors the permissions
1. Navigate to Administration > Advanced > Role Group Templates.
2. Click the + New Role button.
3. Name the group, enable the "Student Sign Ins/Outs" permission, then click Save Changes.
4. Start assigning this new role to tutors by navigating to Administration > User Accounts.
5. Use the search tool on the left side of the screen to find a tutor, then click on their name.
6. Click the "Security" tab, enable the "System User" role.
7. Open the "Apply Template" dropdown menu, select the name of the new group that was created earlier, then scroll up and click Save Changes.
NOTE: The user can be given a scope. This will limit their permissions to a specific Center or classroom.
How to give all tutors the permissions
1. Navigate to Administration > Control Panel, then select the "User Accounts" module.
2. Click "Access Restrictions" on the left side of the screen, then enable the following permissions:
- Tutors can bulk sign in students - This permission gives all tutors the ability to sign students in to a Center.
- Tutors can bulk sign out students - This permission gives all tutors the ability to sign students out of a Center
3. Scroll back up to the top of the page and click Save Changes.
