Accudemia: How do I ensure that tutors won't be automatically signed out by the Maximum Sign-In Duration feature?

Accudemia has a feature called the "Maximum sign-in duration" which automatically signs out students who forgot to do so manually. Typically, this limit is set to be a few hours, but for tutors that limit might not be enough. By default, tutors are not affected by the maximum sign-in duration, but that can be accidentally changed. To ensure that tutors aren't automatically logged out, administrators can temporarily change the maximum sign-in duration to be 1 minute long and see whether a test tutor account is logged out in that time.

It's heavily suggested to do this outside of normal operating hours or to warn students that tests on Accudemia will be taking place at a specific time. Otherwise, normal student accounts will be automatically logged off after 1 minute without explanation. Setting the Maximum sign-in duration to 1 minute

1. Navigate to Administration > Control Panel on the home page.

2. Select the "General" module.

3. Select the scope for the center or classroom you are applying the settings to.

4. Scroll down to "Miscellaneous," type "1" into the "Maximum sign-in duration" text box, then click Save Changes.

After testing to see whether the tutor account will be automatically logged off, remember to set the Maximum sign-in duration back to what it previously was. Otherwise, students will only be able to log into Centers for 1 minute before being automatically logged out.

Testing to see if Accudemia logs out tutor accounts

Sign in to Accudemia on a tutor account and wait a few minutes. The "Maximum sign-in duration" feature will sign the account out in 1 minute if it believes the account belongs to a student. If it isn't automatically signed out, then Accudemia is correctly registering it as a tutor account.

If the tutor account does log out after a minute, then a separate error is causing the problem. Reach out to the college's Technical Contact(s) and have them submit a help ticket to the Accudemia Support Team.
