Accudemia: How can I update the instructions shown in Sign-in Stations/Kiosks?

Introduction

This article explains how to set instructions on the computer Kiosk or sign-in Stations. The message can be customized as needed following this guide.

Step-by-Step

Note: Only Administrators with the "Edit Settings" permission can update these settings.  Contact your Accudemia Administrator to request permission or have them update the settings following this guide.

1. Click the Administration > Control Panel from the main menu.

2. Select the "Appearances and Themes" section in the Control Panel.

3. Set the Scope in the pop-up window

Once you click the Appearance and Themes link, now select the Scope. The scope is the "Center" or "College" settings such as the "Student Success Center" (shown below). Simply select it in the Select Location dropdown menu and then click the Select button:

4. Customize your Sign-in Kiosk

Access to the settings that will alter a Kiosk's appearance will now be available. This menu allows Administrators to change:
  1. Header Type:
    1. Full Content - This allows you to completely customize the Kiosk Station Header using either the WYSIWYG editor or by editing the HTML source code.
    2. Logo only - This option replaces the header with a single logo using the Update Logo option below.
Note: The Logo only dimensions are on the smaller side so use the "Full Content" option to insert larger images.
  1. Kiosk Station Header: Design a welcome message with images and text in different formats. Ignore this section if you are using the "Logo Only" option.
  2. Update Logo: Upload the school's logo or the center's logo for the kiosk header. Ignore this option if you are using the "Full Content" option.
  3. Display Card Reader Information: Use this checkbox to show or not show the option to swipe in or use a reader.
  4. Card Reader Information Text: Use this option to customize the message from the default "Please swipe a card to Sign-in." message in case you are using a barcode, RFID, or other reader type:

5. Save Changes at the top of the page.
