Action Plans in AccuCampus refers to those Action Items and Action Packs that were assigned to a particular user(student). In this article, we will discuss on how his process works, both the technical side of it and the logical understanding.
These two articles are a good start to understanding Action Plans better:
STEP BY STEP
1-What are Action - Items?
What characteristics must be present when thinking about simple tasks that can become Action Items.?
1-A task must be goal-oriented, some results must be achieved when fulfilling the task and this must be in one or very few interconnected actions/steps.
2- The task has a determined deadline to be completed.
3-The task deals with very few actors, meaning the user in charge to carry on the task must interact at the most with 1 or few other users to achieve it, otherwise, the task becomes too complex.
2-What are Action - Packs?
What characteristics must be present when thinking about what complex set of steps are needed to achieve bigger goals such as a Freshman orientation process.?
1- Each task in the chain of action is linked in a way that failing to do one makes the general objective fails.
2- The group of tasks has a determined deadline to be completed.
3- What are Action Plans?
Each user in AccuCampus can be assigned with multiple tasks(Action-Items) and multiple Groups of Tasks(Action packs), this combination is what forms the user Action Plan, so basically a sequence of goals and or activities that must be completed in a certain time, each user plan is unique and can be customized to fit specifically that user schedule and necessities, even with the same tasks assigned to them 2 users might have different deadlines and different organizational structure in his/her plan.
4-How a user can visualize and keep track of these tasks?
When a user logs in AccuCampus usually there is a section on the homepage dedicated to Action Plan such as what you can see highlighted here:
However, if there is no section devoted to this in the Home Page the user can click Action-PLan --> My Plan and see all the tasks needing completion:
5-How a user can complete each task in his/her Plan?
Usually, the Action Items and/or Pack added to a user change status automatically when certain objectives are met such as for example A user was assigned an Action Item called "Create an appointment in the Success Center with the lead advisor to receive a small tour around the center facilities", as soon as the user creates the appointment and uses a sign-in Station to enter the session the Action Item changes status to "completed".
However, not all Action Items and/or Packs change status automatically so it is a great practice to talk to your tutor/advisor when an activity has been fulfilled just in case the status needs to be changes manually, or in the case, we still need to do something else for the task to be completed.
